FNB Premiership League giants, Township Rollers have announced Serbian coach, Srdan Zivojnov as the new head coach on a three-year contract.
The club made the announcement today, ending weeks of speculation over who would take the reins ahead of the 2025/ 2026 season. Zivojnov’s appointment comes as Rollers seek to bounce back from a disappointing season in which they finished without a trophy and outside the top three bracket.
The 53-year old brings a wealth of experience, having coached in various leagues across Europe and Africa, and is expected to instill a winning mentality within the squad. In a brief statement, Rollers management expressed optimism about the Serbian’s arrival.
“We are pleased to announce the appointment of coach Srdan Zivojnov on a three-year contract. Zivojnov has vast experience as head coach of clubs in international competitions such as the African Confederations Cup and CAF Champions league,” the statement reads. Zivojnov has already arrived in Botswana this week to finalise his paperwork and meet the squad.
As he takes over from coach Aziz Karkache, his immediate task will be to prepare the team for pre-season as Rollers gear up for what promises to be a highly competitive league campaign and the Orange FA Cup. Rollers supporters will be hoping Zivojnov’s appointment signals a return to the glory days, with expectations high for him to deliver silverware and reassert Popa’s dominance in local football.
